- Offer melon balls as an afternoon snack. Use honeydew, cantelope and watermelon. Everyone likes finger foods to snack on.


- Set up a spa station. Offer a manicure or hand massage while you both sip on "spa water". This is water infused with fruits. Make it special.


- Smoothies are also delicious and the fruits provide a lot of hydrating benefits. Get seniors involved. Make them together.


-Popsicles are also fun. Invite the grandkids or neighborhood kids over after school to enjoy different flavors together.


- Make a fruit pizza. This is actually a large sugar cookie with fruits on top of a cream cheese topping. A fruit jam glaze is added on top.


- At 5 O'clock have a Mocktail hour. There are so many different recipes. You can even get dressed up and have an appetizer to make it seem special. This is a favorite among many seniors.


June started doing this with her aging mom every day one summer. She invited the neighbors over to enjoy a mocktail and appetizer after work with her and her mom. The added benefit was a stronger connection with her neighbors. Additionally, she and her mom developed a social network they both needed.
